Nigerian troops have reportedly recovered the town of Michika in Adamawa State from Boko Haram.

This was disclosed by President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday, January 29 during a campaign rally in Yola, the state capital.

Jonathan also added that the military would soon recapture Madagali, another town in the state, from the insurgents.

“Before this time, five local government areas in Adamawa were under the control of Boko Haram. But today, Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa has been recaptured from Boko Haram. And the only remaining local government, Madagali, will insha Allahu, be liberated,” Jonathan said.

“I know the burden I am carrying because of Boko Haram and the daily conversations I used to have with some World leaders.” Jonathan added.

Jonathan also promised that all the territories captured by the sect in different states would be recovered.
