Boko Haram has once again pledged allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), this time via a video published on YouTube.

The first pledge of allegiance was made by Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau via an audio message in March 2015.

The video, said to be titled “Investigate”, was first released on March 31st, 2016.

Shekau is believed to have appeared in the video and made threats against the Nigerian people and President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Boko Haram leader had earlier appeared in another video in which he supposedly asked his followers to surrender.

The authenticity of the latest video is however in doubt as it is seen as an attempt by the sect to show strength in the light of recent military victories against it.
