FG to host regional dialogue on protection of victims
Dambazau expressed concern over the devastating effects of the insurgency on the livelihood and local economies of the Lake Chad Basin region.

The minister said this in Abuja at a news conference, adding that the dialogue would take place from June 6 to June 8in Abuja.
He explained that participants from Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Nigeria, which made up the Chad Basin, would be present at the meeting.
He said the dialogue would be held in collaboration with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to address the adverse effects of insurgency on the population of Lake Chad Basin.
The minister noted that the primary objective of the event would be to identify the protection risks of the population affected and adopt concrete measures to support refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
He added that emphasis would be on the vulnerable groups such as women, children and the elderly.
According to him, the dialogue will provide the opportunity to decide on common solutions to the problems of those affected by the violence.
Participants at the dialogue will include ministers of interior of the affected countries and other important stakeholders.
