This was disclosed by Cameroon’s Communications Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakary.
“During this victorious assault 162 Boko Haram terrorists were neutralized, four artisan mine factories were dismantled, a previously identified training centre was set ablaze, war weapons seized,” he said according to Voice of America.
“The operation led by Cameroon special forces also led to the release of hundreds of people held hostage by Boko Haram. Several Nigerian hostages were also freed," he added.
Bakary also said that two members of Cameroon's military were killed during the operation.
Cameroon has suffered Boko Haram attacksdue to its shared border with Nigeria where the sect largely operates.
