Suspected terrorists attack University of Maiduguri again

According to The Cable, a suicide bomber struck close to one of the hostels in the university around 7:50pm on Monday, February 19, 2018.
This comes days after the Nigerian Armysaid the terrorists have been completely flushed out of Sambisa Forest, the group's stronghold.
The army also said the leader of the group, Abubakar Shekau and some of his members have fled to neighbouring Cameroun.
But in a video released shortly after the army's claims, Shekau vowed to continue the attacks, boasting that his group still operates from Sambisa.

In 2017, the terrorists have attacked UNIMAID at least five times, killing many.
The Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) UNIMAID chapter, Dani Mamman, had said at least 70 lecturers have resigned from the university since 2009 owing to the Boko Haram insurgency.
