“Our troops are in control after operations which had the active support of volunteers (vigilantes) and our friendly neighbours,” Mike Omeri, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) told AFP.
Chad’s military had conducted airstrikes against Boko Haram in Gamboru and had also earlier recovered Malumfatori from the sect.
The state governor, Kashim Shettimahad said on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, that Boko Haram was in control of eight out of the 27 Local Government Areas in the state.
