Boko Haram and IPOB are not the same – Afenifere tells President

Odumakin also criticised the President’s order to his security chiefs, saying it is not the right way to maintain peace and unity in the country.

Buhari has vowed to redouble efforts to fight Boko Haram Islamist militants

According to Daily Post, the group’s National Secretary, Yinka Odumakin said that all IPOB has done is call for a sit at home, while Boko Haram has been killing people and destroying properties in the North-East.

He said “While Boko Haram is a terrorist organization that goes about bombing people and places, IPOB is an open organization.

“What IPOB has done is to call for a sit-at-home but Boko Haram is a terrorist group, except you want IPOB to go underground like Boko Haram.

“It is a wrong approach. You cannot treat Boko Haram and an open organization like IPOB in the same manner.”

Meanwhile, the Movement of the Actualisation of a Sovereign State Of Biafra (MASSOB) in its reaction, said that President Buhari is suffering from military mentality.
