Soldiers in Cameroon have killed 11 Boko Haram terrorists, the country’s Ministry of Defence has said.

The insurgents were killed on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, during clashes in the northern town of Amchide.

"Our troops close to the zone were alerted by our intelligence system, reacted and there was a fight. They (Boko Haram) returned the second time more numerous and they found us ready for combat," said Ministry spokesman Colonel Didier Badjeck said.
Cameroon has suffered attacks from the sect due to its expansive border with Nigeria and is expected to contribute troops to a multinational force against Boko Haram which will be headquartered in Chad.
