1 soldier reportedly killed as bomb blasts rock UNIMAID

According to the President of the UNIMAID Student Union Government (SUG), Abu Babati told Punch that it occurred on Thursday, May 18, 2017.

According to Babati, the first bomb was detonated around 10.50pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017, adding that the second bomb went off by 12 am on Friday, May 19, 2017.

The SUG President said one of the suicide bombers was shot by a soldier around the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, which led to the detonation of the bomb.

He also said that the second explosion occurred around the female hostel area.

Another student, Yusuf Ibrahim also told Punch that a soldier was killed when the second bomb was detonated at the female hostel.

Recently, a female suicide bomber in Borno state blew herself up after flirting with a soldier at a military checkpoint.
