Gov locks out SSG, others for coming to work late

It was reported that Ayade got to the office before 7.30am and ordered the gates be closed as he monitored activities at the gate from his office.

According to a report by Punch Newspaper, Ayade ordered the closure of the gates of the Government House, Calabar, hence locking out top political appointees and civil servants at for resuming late.

His deputy, Prof. Ivara Esu, and the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Ita  were reported to have arrived at about 8am and were allowed to entry.

However, the Secretary to the State Government, Tina Agbor, and other civil servants who were reported to have arrived later were locked out for coming late.

Civil servants, security aides and other appointees were kept out by the Governor's security operatives, who manned the gates on the instruction of the governor.

The gates were, however, opened by 9am with some members of staff allowed to go in while those who came after then were turned back.
