Yamusa’s contributions to peace, unity, indelible

This is contained in Atiku’s condolence message to the government and people of Nasarawa State over the demise of the monarch, issued by Atiku Media Office in Abuja on Saturday.

Atiku Abubakar

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar said that the death of Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Chindo Yamusa 11, had "robbed Nigeria of an outstanding exponent of peace and unity’’.

Atiku said that the late traditional ruler was genuinely committed to building the bridges of unity, sustaining peace and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

"The deceased had won the respect of many Nigerians because throughout his life, he was passionately devoted to the course of achieving unity even in diversity,’’ Atiku said.

The former vice-president recalled that Yamusa was one of the Northern leaders whose voices were loudly heard condemning the Boko Haram terrorism in the North.

"Late Yamusa was also one of the leaders always stressing the need for leaders to show vigilance in their immediate communities, to avoid the emergence of dangerous ideologies’’.

Atiku prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest and give his immediate family, his subjects and the people of the state the fortitude to bear the loss.
