Ex-Vice President’s daughter will not receive salary as Commissioner

The daughter of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Dr Fatima Atiku was sworn in on Friday, August 28, 2015 as the Commissioner of Health for Adamawa State.

The daughter of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has refused to collect a salary as the Commissioner of Health for Adamawa State.

Dr Fatima Atiku was sworn in on Friday, August 28, 2015, in Yola, the state capital.

She told journalists that she would be forfeiting her salary so that the funds could be used to revitalize the health sector in the state.

She said:

“I am very grateful to the governor for appointing me to head the Health Ministry.”

“The ministry is the most challenging because of the insurgency problem that had caused some damage to the health system in the state.”

“For this reason, I shall be donating my salary and allowances for use in enhancing the delivery of healthcare service in the state.”
