Nigeria needs God’s help – Governor says

Ambode, while calling on religious leaders to pray for the country, acknowledged that only God can save Nigeria from its present economic woes.

The Governor also assured members of the Anglican Church of his support.

Ambode said “Nigeria is in dire need of God’s prosperity and blessing and there are no other people that can do that (pray) for us except the church.

“It is clear that the welfare of the people in the church will improve when the country’s economy improves. One can imagine that there is a correlation between the economy and the church, and if the economy prospers, it is very clear that the welfare of people in the church will also improve.

“So, it is in the best interest of those of us who are in government to ensure that the economy prospers or else people will not come into the church.”

Governor Ambode during the burial ceremony of Late Tunji Braithwaite in Epe, on Thursday, April 28, 2016, revealed that he never imagined he would end up as a politician.
