The statement said the exercise was to also inform the people of the journey so far and with a view to taking the state to the next level.

Akinwunmi Ambode

Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Monday, unveiled plans to hold quarterly town hall meeting to render account of his stewardship to the people of the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Habib Aruna, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor and made available to newsmen in Lagos.

It said the meeting would take the government to all the nooks and crannies of the state to present the account of the governor’s stewardship.

According to the statement, the meeting will go a long way to feel the pulse of the people and get firsthand knowledge of their needs and concerns.

"The maiden edition of our quarterly report will be rendered in the first week of October and will continue in that tradition every three months.

"At the end of each quarter, our government will report to the people of the state on the journey so far and the task ahead,'' it said.

The statement said that the efforts of the administration in the last three months had been geared toward making sure public institutions work in the interest of the people.

"We are committed to making the various public institutions work for the benefit of the people of the state. That in my view is why we were elected”.

"Our government will use the town hall meetings to get feelers from the populace, on how government affects them and what they want from government.
