Following the death of the famed 'Ijaw General' and ex-governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, there are reports that some tragedies that befell him might have contributed to the cardiac arrest that led to his eventual death.

According to a report by TheCable News, the strong willed politician, who holds sway as the first elected governor of Bayelsa State, started breaking down piece by piece after witnessing four major tragedies few years after his famous arrest escape in the United Kingdom.

In October 2014, DSP was hit by the first of series of blow to come when he flew to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to retrieve the corpse of Oyamieyifa, one of his sons who died under controversial circumstances.

According to reports, this was said to have dealt the ex-governor a serious blow that he never recovered from.

Just months after the death of Oyemieyifa and DSP was said to be embracing life again, Tonbra, his other son, broke up with his wife of seven months, Chikodi Stella Ononiwu, in the early months of 2015 in controversial circumstances after a dream wedding which was the talk of the town.

As if the shock from the different news of his sons aren't just enough to deal with, Alamieyeseigha, was again faced with a life threatening ailment that has seen his wife, Margret, suffer so much pain as a result of the bad health till date.

And to cap it all, in a most dramatic twist of fate, the British government reportedly requested the extradition of Alamieyeseigha to face trial for alleged money laundering. according to reports.

What is said to have left the ex-governor devastated is the seeming support the UK government would get from the Buhari led government that remains keen on getting rid of corruption in Nigeria.

TheCable reports that the Ijaw General received the news of the plans to extradite him to the UK with fear that he allegedly told family members that 'he has suffered enough of the judicial processes and humiliation.'
