President Muhammadu Buhari has presented the 2017 budget to the National Assembly.

Buhari presented the N7.28 trillion “Budget of Recovery and Growth” to a joint session of the NASS on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.

Below are seven important sectorial allocations in the 2017 budget:

  1. Power, Works and Housing – N529 billion

  2. Social Intervention – N150 billion

  3. Defence – N140 billion

  4. Presidential Amnesty Programme – N65 billion

  5. Niger Delta Development Commission – N61 billion

  6. Education – N50 billion

  7. Federal Capital Territory – N37 billion

President Buhari has assured that the 2017 budget will pull Nigeria out of the current recession.
