The Police prosecutor, Sgt. Ato Godwin, had told the court that the case was reported at Otukpo police station by one Peter, a resident of Ipole, in Otukpa, on April 11, 2019 .
Ato further told the court that the complainant reported that his son, James Peter, of the same address, left the house to attend a crusade at Pilot Science Primary School, Ipole, Otukpa, on the said date, but was attacked by Obekpa Yakubu, Anthony Yakubu and Junior Audu all of Ipole Otukpa.
He alleged that the suspects stabbed the victim who later died at the Federal Medical Centre, Effekwu.
During police investigation, the accused person was arrested and confessed to committing the crime while Anthony and Junior are still at large.
When the case came up for mention, plea of the accused person was not taken for want of jurisdiction.
Prosecution said investigation into the matter was still in progress and prayed the court for another date for mention.
He said that the offence contravenes section 97 and 222 of the penal code law of Benue State 2004.
The Magistrate, Mrs. J. O. Ayia, ordered that the accused person be remanded in Federal Prison, Makurdi and adjourned the case to May 31, 2019 for further mention.
