Akua Nyame-Mensah appointed as new MD of online real estate classifieds platform

One of Nigeria’s leading online property portal, Lamudi, has announced Akua Nyame-Mensah as the company’s new managing director.

Akua, who described the prospects of her new role as “exciting”, is currently MD of Lamudi Ghana and will oversee operations of both companies in her new role, according to a report by Nigeria CommunicationWeek.

Outgoing MD, Obi Ejimofo, has held the position since late 2013 and s regarded as the driving force behind the company’s 105% increase in listings.

Speaking on the choice of new MD, Ejimofo said, “Akua was the obvious and best choice to take this role. Her achievements at Lamudi Ghana are remarkable and because she’s been there from day one, I believe she is well equipped to take this company to the next level.”

Akua holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College.

Akua’s time as Lamudi Ghana MD saw the company rise to become the largest real estate classifieds platform and produces the country only quarterly property and lifestyle magazine.

Lamudi is part of the Africa Internet Holding – supported by Rocket InternetMTN and Millicom – the same group behind JumiaJovago, Easy Taxi and 2 other startups.
