Apart from Forza Horizon 2, new generation games like Need for Speed: Rivals, Driveclub and The Crew have been really disappointing for video game car racing fans.

Maybe the new Project CARS, which has finally gone gold after endless delays, will put the genre back on track.

Last week, developer Slightly Mad Studios announced that a new Project CARS had been completed and will debut worldwide on May 7. The game will be released to consoles on a staggering schedule, with the Xbox One and PS4 versions going to Europe, Australia and Asia on May 7, the U.K on May 8 and the U.S and Canada on May 12.

According to Slightly Mad Studios, Project CARS features “the largest track roster of any recent racing game, a huge variety of motorsports , a freeform and authentic career mode, world-class graphics & handling, dynamic time of day & weather, and a suite of community features and connectivity.”
