Agency convicts 58 traffic offenders in Plateau

These traffic offenders were convicted for lane indiscipline, speeding, and windscreen and vehicle licence violation.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Plateau sector, has arrested 61 motorists in Jos.

Mr Crawford Oti, the Sector Commander, revealed the arrest and said that the traffic offenders were tried before a mobile court.

58 were found guilty, thus, were convicted, while the remaining three were discharged.

Their charges included lane indiscipline, speeding, and windscreen and vehicle license violation.

''We actually apprehended 61 offenders, but three of them were discharged by the mobile court, while the remaining 58 were convicted. Most of them were convicted over driver's licence violation, overloading, mechanical deficient vehicles, using the telephone while driving, obstruction and seat belt violation."
