Death Toll Now 5,459

The new statistics show that 39 new deaths and 106 new cases of the disease were recorded between Wednesday, November 19 and Friday.

The current Ebola outbreak has claimed 5,459 lives, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday, November 21.

Transmission remains intense in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone," the WHO stated.

The situation in Mali has also become cause for concern after a failure to diagnose an infected Imam resulted in the deaths of a nurse and a doctor with many more people being exposed to the disease.
