Commenting on the reports on Multichoice’s unhealthy practices, Senator Isah Misau said that being that Multichoice’s brand DSTv is known to dominate the Nigerian satellite television market it is unlawful to engage in negative and unhealthy trade practices.

Further stating that DSTv in some years have been in various legal battles with aggrieved subscribers who were dissatisfied with the programming service and alleged unreasonable subscription hikes across their various bouquets which had led to growing public complaints and petitions.

Following the English premier league most football loving Nigerians have been at the mercy of DSTv and since then Nigerians have complained about the arbitrary increase in the subscription charges.

“Many concerned Nigerians are aggrieved and in constant demand to stop DSTV’s arbitrary price hikes, noting that recent increase in DSTV subscription is outrageous and totally unacceptable,” he said.
