Volvo is making huge promises to their customers.
“By 2020, no one will be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo”, executives declare
Volvo executives have promises to provide deathproof cars by 2020.
According to Carbuzz, the Swedish automobile manufacturer has promised to provide deathproof cars by 2020.
"By 2020, no one will be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo, this was the statement made by Volvo executives to CNN Money.
This bold claim was backed by Volvo North American CEO, Lex Kerssemakers, who said, “[Swedish engineers] don’t say things when they don’t believe in it.”
Concerning the plan to achieve this goal, Volvo’s safety engineer, Erik Coelingh, said this would be done with several safety technologies and autonomous technology.
"With the development of full autonomy we are going to push the limits of automotive safety. Because if you can make a fully autonomous vehicle you have to think through everything that potentially can happen with a car.”
Volvo currently makes some of the safest vehicles in the world.
Let's hope they live up to this promise.
