Lagosians urge Governor Ambode to free them from this problem

Governor Ambode has been called upon by the people of Lagos state to address the issue of traffic robbery.

The governor of Lagos state

Lagosians are tired of traffic robbers and they want their Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to do something about it.

These traffic robbers attack unsuspecting residents and motorists during the many slow traffic jams that Lagos is known for.

Governor Ambode has been asked to repair bad portions of the roads which often create traffic as a preventive measure against traffic robbers.

On Monday, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) spoke to some people who have had run-ins with these robbers.

A lot of them said they were helpless as there were no security agents to save them, hence the need for an quick response to this menace.

One of them, a lady, who pleaded anonymity, said that three hoodlums tried to rob her around 8 p.m. in a slow moving traffic at Odo Iya Alaro, Maryland.

“The hoodlums after tapping at my door glass for me to wind down still took their time to follow my car as I had to change lane twice before the road later became free and I zoomed off."

Unfortunately, this next person was not so lucky, a Mr Tony, who was robbed at Fadeyi area of Ikorodu Road.

“There was nowhere for me to move to when about two of the hoodlums started hitting my door glass at Fadeyi along Ikorodu Road at about 8.30 p.m. I was able to hide my phone but my laptop bag on the seat behind me and my wristwatch were forcefully taken away from me."

In past, the Lagos State Police Command had promised to free Lagos of robberies in traffic.

Hopefully, something will be done soon.
