The process of becoming financially independent and launching into abundance is challenging but it is also achievable.

Making a few minor (and major) changes to your life could set you on the path to riches and 2015 might just be your year.

Here are 5 ways you can get rich this year:

  1. Save, save, save: Most people assume that they don’t make enough money to have savings; this is a wrong notion. Little drops of water make a mighty ocean so nothing is too small to put aside; you’ll be amazed at how much you’d be able to save once you make it a habit.

  2. Invest: To become rich, you need to make your money work for you and this is why you must invest. Investing doesn’t always involve large sums of money and even the little you make can be diverted into another venture. Look around for ideas and also find an entrepreneur around you from whom you can get information on investment options.

  3. Cut down on expenses: If you spend more than you earn, you won’t have any savings and you’ll always be in debt. Being wealthy can only result from having healthy financial habits and overspending is not one of them. Create a budget and stick to it to ensure you don’t go overboard with your spending.

  4. Hang out with rich people: As cliché as this may sound, your network really does determine your net worth. Surround yourself with successful people if you intend to be successful and wealthy yourself.

  5. Get another source of income: Rich people never rely on one source of income. This helps them cope more easily with changes in the economy. Do not put all your eggs in one basket; If you want to become rich this year, get another source of income.
