According to the System Operator of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, electricity generation has risen to 5,074.7 megawatts for the first time in the country’s history.

The announcement came after the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola made a promise that power supply will increase by 2000MW before the end of the year.
The Assistant General Manager, Public Affairs, TCN, Clement Ezeolisah, said “While the previous peak generation of 4,883.9MW was achieved on Monday, November 23, 2015, the previous highest maximum daily energy wheeled nationwide was 107,142.32MWH and recorded on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.”
