SIFAX group restructures, appoints 2 Executive Directors

A statement made available by the Corporate Affairs Manager of the group, Mr Muyiwa Akande on Saturday in Lagos, said Dr Fola Rogers-Saliu was appointed as the Executive Director, Human Resources and Administration.

Akande said in the statement that Mr Michael Owope, who was overseeing the Group’s Inland Container Depots (ICDs), is now the Executive Director, Finance.

``Rogers-Saliu, until her new appointment, was Secretary-General to the Honorary Consul, Republic of Djibouti in Nigeria, Dr Taiwo Afolabi,’’ the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quotes the statement as saying.

It said that Rogers-Saliu has a PhD in Education & Counseling Psychology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; a Post-Graduate Certificate in Emotional Education (PGCEE) from University of Derby, U.K and a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Health Consultancy from University of Liverpool (School of Tropical Medicine), U.K.

``She is a prolific, astute, well-read and widely travelled international consultant with over 28 years experience in capacity building for leadership and management.

``Her core area of expertise is international project management with focus on training and business development.

``Her work experience spans both the local and international scenes.

``On the international front, Rogers-Saliu worked with Terence Higgins Trust, (THT) London, for over nine years as a manager, accredited trainer and mentor to African service development organisations,’’ the statement said.

It added that Owope, who qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1993 and became an ICAN Fellow in 2007, holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

According to the statement, Owope also had an MBA from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho.

``He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

``He joined SIFAX Group in 2006 as the Group Head, Internal Control before a brief stint at SAHCOL, a member of SIFAX Group, asGeneral Manager, Finance and Administration.

``He served as General Manager, Administration and Stevedoring in Ports & Cargo Handling Services Ltd., another member of SIFAX Group, before moving to his last duty post as Executive Director, Inland Container Depots,’’ the statement said.
