According to a press release from Skoda, the new Superb Combi, based on the Superb introduced just a few months ago, the wagon version of Skoda's flagship model has class-leading space that European automakers typically offer in more expensive machinery.
Apparently, It's got plenty of room for passengers, but what sets the Combi apart from the Superb liftback is cargo space: it can swallow over 23 cubic feet of stuff with the rear seats in place, or nearly 69 cu. ft. with those seats folded flat.
That goes beyond giving the likes of the Audi A6 Avant, BMW 5 Series Touring, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate a run for their money, but also starts to challenge a lot of sport-utility vehicles.
Only it won't cost you as much as one of those luxury wagons, or gulp as much fuel as an SUV.
Skoda first launched the Combi version of the previous Superb in 2009 and has sold more than 200,000 of them around the world in the six years since – accounting for 35 percent of the Superbs it sells.
The new model will be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and is slated to begin reaching dealers around the same period.
