'88 accidents have occurred between January to April in Edo state' - FRSC

There have been 88 road traffic crashes, involving 282 persons, in Edo state.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Edo state is revealing the number of accidents recorded.

In an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the sector commander revealed the number of crashes that have occurred between January to April, 2016.

He also revealed the number of deaths.

"Forty-three persons were killed while 239 persons sustained various degrees of injuries in road accidents that occurred between January and April this year.

There was a decrease in deaths resulting from road accidents; from 26 recorded in January to six in February, seven in March and four in April", he said.

Despite this figures, Odukoya promised to maintain safer roads.

"The corps will not relent in its effort to ensure safer roads for all road users", he said.
