The Economist has condemned Governor Ambode and his administration while praising the previous governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola.
Readers say Governor Ambode is not "full of excuses"
A recent poll has shown that readers disagree with The Economist's assessment of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
In the latest publication of the London-based magazine titled "Paralysed, Why Nigeria's largest city is even less navigable than usual", Governor Ambode is said to be "full of excuses, but few solutions, for the worsening gridlock."
Based on this, readers were asked if they agreed with the magazine.
85.7% disagreed with the magazine's assessment of the current governor while 14.3% agreed.
The governor has responded to the magazine with a public statement from the commissioner for information and strategy, Steve Ayorinde.
The statement advised the UK magazine to "restrict itself to strict journalism rather than seeking to impose jaded views."
