FG to spend N2bn on President-elect’s inauguration

About 50 Presidents and other dignitaries are expected to attend the event which will hold on Friday, May 29, 2015.

The inauguration of President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari is expected to gulp about N2 billion, an official says.

The figure was revealed on Friday, May 22, by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub- Committee of the Presidential Inauguration Planning Committee, Edem Duke in Abuja.

“As we speak the 54 countries of the continent of Africa have been invited. Very many of the head of states will be coming,” Duke said.

“There has been a huge interest, especially, from head of countries in Europe to attend this inauguration and at the last count, I think we must have in excess of about 50 heads of state and delegation expected at this inauguration,” he added.

Duke also said that the activities lined up for the inauguration had already commenced on Friday with a Jumaat prayer at the National Central Mosque, Abuja.
