Leading payments platform appoints new president for Middle East and Africa

The company has appointed Raghu Malhotra as president, Middle East and Africa, and he will be taking over from Michael Miebach, who will take on another role as chief product officer at the company’s global headquarters in New York.

Leading payments platform MasterCard, has announced some changes in its Middle East and Africa leadership which will take effect from January 1, 2016.

The company has appointed Raghu Malhotra as president, Middle East and Africa, and he will be taking over from Michael Miebach, who will take on another role as chief product officer at the company’s global headquarters in New York.

Malhotra has been overseeing the company’s activities in about 39 markets across the Meddle East and Africa, and will now be responsible for guiding the company’s technologies and delivering increased value to MasterCard customers across the region.

Commenting on the appointment, An Cairns, President, International Markets at MasterCard said: “MasterCard is focused on building a strong, relevant and impactful business across the Middle East and Africa. Malhotra has been at MasterCard for over 10 years and has held various senior leadership roles in Asia and the Middle East.
