NAMA calls for patronage of locally manufactured vehicles
The Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association (NAMA) is stressing the importance of our local car manufacturing industry.
According to the NAMA chairman, Mr
“Locally assembled Peugeot cars will roll out of the Kaduna plants over the next four months to the waiting hands of the people’s representatives.
Hundreds more people will be employed and trained, locally suppliers will be engaged round the clock, they in turn will employ support staff to carry out various subcontract jobs and from there maintain their families.
Value added to our steel product, rubber extract, glass sheets and plastics from our petrochemical plants will flourish.
All our industry needs is that trigger. From there, we will acquire the capacity to expand our facilities to produce more units at lower prices moving gradually towards global competitiveness and self-sustainability. All thanks to supporters of local industry like the lower house,” he said.
LEADERSHIP reports that he also commended the House of Representatives' recent decision to buy 360 Peugeot cars.
All of these prove that Nigeria is ready to embrace locally manufactured vehicles, once again!
