They are the General Manager, Engr. Adeigbe Olushola, the Head of Inspection and Quality Control, Adeoye Thomas Adeyemi, the Zonal District Officer, Dosunmu Gbadebo, and the Zonal Head of Eti-Osa West, Mrs. Akinde Adenike Sherifat, who was compulsorily retired from the Civil Service.

In a public statement signed by the State Head of Service, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola, said Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has approved of the dismissal.

Governor Ambode said the officers were sacked because of their negligence, which has resulted in the loss of 35 lives.

The governor said their actions went against the Public Service Rule 040401, which states that “a willful act of omission or general misconduct to the scandal of the pubic or to the prejudice of discipline and proper administration of the State Government should be visited with dismissal from the Public Service in line with the Public Service Rule 040503.”

Mrs Ademola warned others to take their responsibilities seriously or face the same action.

“It is also a clarion call to them to be alive to their responsibilities as any act of negligence will face sanctions, while hardworking officers will be rewarded appropriately,” she said.
