Captain Nemo’s ride was one of the most extraordinary things about the 2003 flick “The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen” and over a decade after its silver screen debut, the Nautilus Car is headed to auction.

Designed by Carol Spier, and custom made for production, the car's unique fiberglass body sits ontop of a Land Rover Fire Tender, while a steel sub frame cuddles a big Rover V8 engine.

The car features six massive 28-inch wheels and very powerful hydraulics. The Hindu god Ganesha is elaborately recreated on either side of the decorative grille, and along with elephant motifs and other symbolic carvings, sport an aged gold finish complementing the cracked off-white body.

The interior is equally elaborate, upholstered in faux brown leather and silver. At 22 feet long by nine feet wide, the car is not suitable or legal for road use, but runs beautifully and can clock 80 mph. It is expected to fetch up to £25,000 at Coys’ Blenheim Palace auction next month.
