Ken Okuyama, a popular designer for Ferrari, is making gloomy predictions concerning the future of vehicles that are not autonomous(self-driving.)

According to him, only two types of cars will be built soon.

The first, functional and autonomous, the second, luxury cars for only wealthy people.

Thus, Okuyama is advising all carmakers to jump on the autonomous bandwagon or "risk becoming just suppliers to those (tech) companies.”

"Self-driving cars will eventually become commonplace ... as a result, carmakers will have to sell not only the hardware, but also the overall system to run the cars.”

The designer is set to unveil a $1.3 million car at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.

Last week, Pulse Nigeria reported another prediction.
