Former Governor ordered to vacate residence

The Landlord said he was forced to take legal action, after many failed attempts to get Nwobodo to pay his rent.

Jim Nwobodo

Adin-Miles International Limited, owners of the property on 24 Ona Crescent, Plot 768 Cadastral Zone A5, Maitama-Abuja, the house where Mr. Jim Nwobodo resides, filed a case in court to evict the former Governor.

The property is a six bedroom duplex, with a one bedroom guest chalet and two rooms boys quarters.

Sources say Nwobodo refused to pay the sum of N11m, being the  rent arrears due, from June 1, 2009 till May 31, 2011.

Justice S. B Belgore of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja has therefore ordered Nwobodo to vacate the property and pay the rent he owed-N11m, and also the sum of N458,333 every month from 2011 till date.

The court dismissed Mr. Nwobodo’s counter-claim which stated that he wanted to buy the property, before the plaintiff dubiously acquired it.

He was also ordered to renovate the property or pay the sum N3m, for that purpose, to the Landlord.
