China pledges $60 billion for African development

According to media reports, China has announced that it will donate $60 billion worth of assistance and loans to help with the development of Africa.

BBC reports that President Xi Jinping said the package would include zero-interest loans as well as scholarships and training for people of Africa.

The Chinese president made the announcement at a major summit between China and Africa which held in Johannesburg.
