FG's solution to national challenge involves architects!
The Federal Government may have found a solution to Nigeria's 17 million housing units deficit.
Speaking at the 9th edition of Architects Colloquium, tagged ‘‘Architecture and the national development agenda’’,Bello called on the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) to help put an end to Nigeria's 17 million deficit housing unit.
"The task of building a befitting capital in the face of scarcity of fund and mass influx of people still remains a challenge.
In our search for solution to this challenge, I am very optimistic that the architects’ association will help us to navigate out of this murky waters by construction of affordable, liveable and environmental friendly housing alternatives that ensures that our people have access to housing," he said.
The minister was represented by Ikenna Ekeredu, an architect, who said FCT has between five to 10% of the country's housing deficit.
