The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mrs Mary Wakawa, the FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO), in charge of Zone RS 10 made this disclosure in Sokoto.

Wakawa told newsmen that three of the deceased personnel belonged to the corps while one was an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

She gave the names of the dead FRSC officials as Bello Lawal, Bello Abdullahi and Bashiru Ango while the deceased NSCDC official was Bashir Yakubu.

According to her, the names of the survivors are Sgt. Haruna Ilyasu of the police and Abubakar Sodangi of the FRSC.

”Both the deceased officers and the survivors were part of a mobile court sitting, as at the time of the incident along the Sokoto-Gusau highway in company with a magistrate.

”One of our most formidable challenges is the inability of some unruly motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations.

”This is why road traffic crashes are disturbingly prevalent in developing countries.

”We should all be law abiding both on the roads and everywhere, as only the living can drive,” she said.
