Ota unit partners with TRACE to combat traffic gridlocks

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ota unit is collaborating with Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) in order to deal with the traffic situation.

Ogun state

The terrible traffic situation in Ota, Ogun state has caused the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to collaborate with Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE).

Mr Leye Adegboyega, the new Commander of the FRSC in the unit made this known earlier this week.

"The two agencies are working toward reducing traffic jams and ensuring sanity on the roads; so, there should be no clash of interest, instead they should disseminate information among themselves to achieve the desirable results."

He went on to warn motorists to avoid parking in illegal spots as this also leads to crashes on roads.

The Zonal Commander of TRACE, Mr Adekunle Ajibade, had good things to say about the partnership which he insisted would help reduce traffic  jams in Sango-Ota.

He also revealed that TRACE was against illegal parking, just like the FRSC, adding that TRACE officials were at liberty to tow any wrongly parked vehicle.

TRACE and FRSC are not the only ones against illegal parking.

Earlier this month, the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, issued a threat against this particular offense; "If you park illegally, I will impound your vehicle and you will pay to get it back."
