Considering the fact that one third of your adult life will be spent at work, you’d agree that satisfaction with your job is very important in our eternal quest for daily happiness.  

So what’s the secret to a happy work life, you say? Well, it’s not a mega salary like you would naturally think.

According to a UK study, a majority of people say a good commute to the office is usually enough to set them in a god mood for the rest of the work day rather than a great salary.

Employees rated an easy commute, cool or fun workspace and a good work and life balance as the top factors in achieving so-called ‘career contentment’, according to research by recruitment website Reed.co.uk.

31 per cent of the employees that participated in the study said a good commute was enough and shockingly, only 18 per cent of the employees that partook in the study attributed a good salary to job satisfaction.

Finally, 12 per cent said more days off and holidays will do it for them. Now, I’m throwing the gauntlet to you, what gives you job satisfaction? Huge salary? More days off? A good commute? Answer in the poll below:
