Bentley is committed to ensuring its new crossover SUV remains fully capable when the tarmac ends and has demonstrated this commitment in a pair of teaser videos.
British auto giant shows of its first ever SUV in new videos
The vehicle gets an all-new W-12 engine that displaces 6.0 liters and is aided by a twin-turbocharging system.
The first video shows a Bentayga prototype at an off-road testing facility located in a rocky, mountainous region of northern Spain. The second video shows it in the extreme cold of northern Sweden during the winter months.
The luxury SUV seemed unfazed in both instances because the Bentayga is based on the same SUV version of the VolkswagenGroup’s impressive MLB Evo platform that debuted in the 2017 Audi Q7.
According to Motor Authority, this same platform, in shortened form, will eventually appear in next-generation versions of the Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg and even a new SUV from Lamborghini based on 2012’s Urus concept.
The vehicle also gets an all-new W-12 engine that displaces 6.0 liters and is aided by a twin-turbocharging system. The engine carries a sophisticated temperature management system to guarantee optimum performance in all weather conditions.
The Bentayga will make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show in September and should be in showrooms by next spring, reports Motor Authority.
