Police commissions 260 staff homes in Abuja
The Nigerian Police force has provided 260 housing units for it's staff, this is to improve their lives, as well as reduce the rate of corruption.
According to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, this would improve their lives, as well as reduce the rate of corruption.
While commissioning these houses at the Brick City Estate, Kubwa in Abuja, the IGP spoke on the significance of these homes.
“Corruption is rampant amongst my men because at the end of their service year, they barely have what to fall back on and this motivated me to get them affordable homes.
I believe that once they are able to have affordable accommodation when they are in service, then the pressure on them as public servants is mitigated and that is my own approach towards halting the issues of corruption in the system.
I believe that everybody who has served Nigeria for 35 years or 60 years should be able to retire into something and this is my own strategic approach towards halting the issues of corruption in the system.”
