Shekau Shows Support For ISIS In New Video

The new video shows the group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, an armoured tank and fighters parading down a street in an area believed to be under the sect’s control.

Boko Haram has released a new video and inside shows glimpses of what it claims is its “caliphate”.

The new video shows the group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, an armoured tank and fighters parading down a street in an area believed to be under the sect’s control.

The 44-minute video was obtained by the Agence France Press (AFP) today, November 9, 2014.

In the clip, Shekau proclaims Boko Haram's support for other caliphates such as that created by terrorist group, ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

He once again denies entering into a ceasefire agreement with the Nigerian government and threatens to kill the self-acclaimed Secretary-General of Boko Haram, Danladi Ahmadu.

Shekau stated:

“We have indeed established an Islamic caliphate. To everyone living in Islamic Caliphate, we convey our greetings.”

The Boko Haram leader went further to name “brethren” in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Shishan (an Islamist term for Chechnya), Yemen, Somalia and “the Caliphate in Iraq and Syria.”

The Nigerian government announced a ceasefire with the sect on October 17 but Shekau appeared in a video denying it and the Federal Government itself has admitted that it has not reached any such agreement with the sect.
