Indigenous entertainment app launches pay-per-view GSM platform

The Afrinolly MarketPlace will be formally launched on Tuesday, November 10, at the 2015 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria, Island, Lagos.

Afrinolly Limited, the developers of Afrinolly; is launching the Afrinolly MarketPlace, a first of its kind pay per view online GSM platform for Nollywood, and for other African movies, short films and TV series.

The Afrinolly MarketPlace will be formally launched on Tuesday, November 10, at the 2015 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria, Island, Lagos.

Millions of GSM subscribers across Nigeria and other mobile telecom networks in Africa will be able to watch Movies, Short films, TV Series and more on the go everyday while content producers can monetize their movies via the Afrinolly Marketplace on pay per view basis.

This is the first time producers will have the opportunity of earning daily income from their online videos in Africa.

“This is the most exciting moment for Nollywood and African film industry as we launch Afrinolly MarketPlace, the first secured mobile platform for the distribution of Nollywood and African movies and Short films, Series and more for GSM users in Nigeria and the rest of the world who can now enjoy non-stop African entertainment from their mobile phones 24 hours daily,” said Mr. Chike Maduegbuna, the CEO of Afrinolly Limited.

GSM subscribers on MTN would be able to pay for content via their airtime to watch videos on their mobile phones at launch, while Airtel subscribers will also be able to pay conveniently with their airtime in a few weeks.

Users on other GSM networks would be able to pay using their Debit or Credit Cards, Google Wallet, Apple Pay and other mobile payment options.
