M.I to make appearance on Coke Studio Africa season 3

M.I Abaga was recently in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi to work with local hip-hop acts as part of the new season of Coke Studio Africa.

The Chocolate City CEO will be collaborating with singer-songwriter Avril to give his ‘Bad belle’ track and her ‘Nikumuona’ single a fresh new twist. Both songs are to be produced by Cobhams Asuquo. As with the usual style of the show, the talents will perform the mash-up versions of their songs live with a band directed by South AfricanGrammy award-winning music expert Zwai Bala.

“The mash-up format is very powerful, we’re going to unite fans, markets and hearts”, M.I said. He was also in the studio with Blinky Bill of house music group Just a Band.

The MC didn’t just spend his time creating new music, while he was in the Green City in the Sun, Kibera ambassador and rapper Octopizzo took him on a tour of his neighbourhood. This move inspired the ‘The Chairman’ rapper. He said: "As a successful rapper, I don’t only want to work with artists who only show you the top of their plant but I am also interested in those getting back to their roots”.
