If Bachelor Nation wasn't already busy enough keeping up with The Bachelor , The Bachelorette, Bachelor Summer Games , and Bachelor in Paradise , a new casting announcement on the ABC reality show casting page revealed that the franchise's producers are looking for single, active senior citizens to participate in a geriatric version of The Bachelor.
"Now casting Seniors Looking for Love! Are you entering your golden years and looking for romance?" the casting page reads. "The Producers of The Bachelor are looking for active and outgoing single men and women IN THEIR GOLDEN YEARS for a new exciting dating show! Applicants must be legal U.S. residents; other eligibility requirements apply."
Within the application, the casting team asks questions similar to the ones on the standard Bachelor/Bachelorette questionnaire, like "Why would you want to find love on TV?" and "Have you ever had a temporary restraining order issued against someone or had one issued against you?"
Also, in January 2020, Bachelor franchise supervising producer Lindsay Liles posted the casting call on Instagram, specifying that the show will feature seniors aged 65 and older.
In the words, er, tweet of ABC's head of reality TV, Robert Mills: "#Bachelornation give us your Grumpiest Old Men, give us your Goldenest Girls."
