Yesterday, Miley Cyrus released “Malibu,” the first single from her latest album, and the music video on YouTube has already racked up 4 million views since Thursday.

And it makes sense since the song tells the sweet story of getting back together with someone, a.k.a. her fiance Liam Hemsworth, who she first split with in 2013. Aww.

In an interview with Billboard published earlier this month, Miley confirmed that the ballad was a shout out to her bae. “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel?’” she said. (BTW: In the same interview, Miley says she wrote the song on the way to The Voice in the back of an Uber.)

Of the breakup, Miley told Billboard she “needed to change so much” and it was hard that Liam wasn’t undergoing such a big change, too. “Suddenly you’re like, ‘I don’t recognize you anymore,’” she says. “We had to refall for each other.”

Miley and Liam now own a house together in Malibu, hence the name, and the song lyrics provide a lot of insight into their breakup and reunion. Here are a few that stand out:

"We watched the sun go down as we were walkingI'd spend the rest of my life just standing here talkingYou would explain the current, as I just smileHoping I just stay the same and nothing will change"

"I never would've believed youIf three years ago you told meI'd be here writing this song"

"Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning and you're there to save meAnd I wanna thank you with all of my heartIt's a brand new startA dream come trueIn Malibu"

Miley tells Billboard that her new record is “a reflection of the fact that yes, I don’t give a f*ck, but right now is not a time to not give a f*ck about people.” Instead, she says she’s “giving the world a hug and saying, ‘Hey, look. We’re good—I love you.’ And I hope you can say you love me back.” Liam has stayed pretty quiet about their relationship, but he recently retweeted Miley’s message about the song debut.

Keep the hits coming, girl.
