Michelle Obama Just Shared An Adorable Workout Snap With All Her 'Galentines' On Instagram

Michelle Obama Shares Workout Buddy Photo
  • Michelle Obama posted an adorable photo for Galentines Day to Instagram.
  • She celebrated with all her workout buddies in whacky, '80s-inspired activewear.
  • The former First Lady stays fit by going to SoulCycle and generally exercising consistently.

There are two holidays this week, but the one that really matters is Galentine's Day. In fact, it's so important that Michelle Obama is already celebrating the special day with all her gal pals and workout buddies.

The former First Lady posted an adorable throwback snap with her best girlfriends to Instagram . Everyone in the photo is wearing colorful '80s-inspired activewear, but Michelle stands out in a belted leotard, leggings, and, of course, leg warmers.

Michelle gave her pals a big shout-out in the caption: "This #GalentinesDay, I want to shout out my girlfriends who help me stay sane and grounded through all of lifes ups and downs. Whether were catching up over the phone, venting over a cup of coffee, or laughing it out during an 80s-themed workout, I know I can lean on these ladiesand thats made all the difference."

She added a question for her followers to answer: "How do you show up for your best friends? Share in the comments below and dont forget to tag your favorite girls to give them a little extra love today. #ThrowbackThursday."

Michelle's workouts , with or without her squad, are important to her. In fact, she and husband Barack talked about their fitness schedules during marriage counseling . She is also super consistent with her sweat sessions. Michelle's trainer, Cornell McClellan, told NPR that she doesnt skip workouts at all. "One of the things that I noticed from [the Obamas] and from herself initially is that this was something that was important and that she prioritized and found a way to fit it in ," he said. "And I remember that when I was working with her all those many years ago, you know, she would be in the gym sometimes at 4:30, 5 o'clock in the morning."

Leave it to Lady O to get a head start on National Workout Buddy Day (a holiday invented by Women's Health). Gather all your fitness friends, it's coming up soon on March 1.
